Nature Dictates Design At A $21.5-Million Mansion On The Santa Barbara Coast

This coastal contemporary in an upscale suburb of Santa Barbara, California, was designed to be immersed in its natural surroundings while guarding against the intrusions of the outer world.

The upper level is wrapped in light-hued smooth stucco and capped by a tile roof, invoking Spanish-style architecture. Uniting the living spaces, and serving as a central artery, is a wide corridor.

Built in 2017, the dwelling attains a clean, sophisticated look with stone floors, high ceilings and plaster walls. The pleasing, high-style ambiance is no accident. The seller is philanthropist and entrepreneur Noelle Wolf, founder of the London-based lingerie label bearing her name.

The kitchen-adjacent dining room features a two-sided fireplace and opens to a patio. There’s also an outdoor dining terrace. A canopy of olive trees and a fountain sit nearby.

The centrally located kitchen, with sleek surfaces, professional-grade appliances and stainless-steel countertops, opens to a terrace and the 75-foot swimming pool.

The main floor primary bedroom includes automatic shades for the pivoting doors and dual closets. Its spa-like bathroom has a separate shower and a soaking tub.

A covered portico leads to two more en-suite bedrooms.

Three sets of floating staircases and an elevator access the second floor, which contains another primary suite, an office and additional en-suite bedrooms. There are a total of six bedrooms and eight bathrooms throughout the house.

A detached spa with a sauna, an ocean-view gym, a wine cellar and car lifts are among other amenities.

The 2.3 acres of grounds contain a built-in barbecue area, a poolside trellis and fireplace, a bocce ball court, courtyards, an orchard and a botanical garden.

Riskin Partners Estate Group at Village Properties has the listing for 4160 La Ladera Road, Santa Barbara. The asking price is $21.5 million.
