Morgan Stewart Reveals Her Dream Closet

Real Estate

Having the same custom closet that a celebrity can have feels out of reach for most people. But E! star Morgan Stewart proves it doesn’t have to be. The Daily Pop host, fashion enthusiast, and designer of Morgan Stewart Sport recently turned a spare bedroom into a dream closet by partnering with the Container Store Custom Closets. More than just a place to store her wardrobe, the space is just as chic as it is functional.

The Container Store is known for their incredibly useful storage products from acrylic shoeboxes to extra thin velvet hangers and perfectly stable shelf separators, but they’ve recently expanded their offerings. While the retailer always offered DIY closet systems including the ever-popular Elfa, Container Custom Closets takes it to the next level. Available on Container Store’s website as well as their retail showrooms, including the Los Angeles Farmers Market, the brand offers in-home measurement and professional installation.

Hello Avera

With a little bit of help from professional organizer, Michelle Goodman and one of Container Store’s in-home designers, Stewart decided there were two major goals with this space—to display her vast shoe collection and store all of her denim.

Stewart chose to use the brand’s newest line, Avera. Avera has a choice of four different finish options, Cloud (pictured in Stewart’s closet), Stone, Dune and Truffle. The shelves can be custom cut to fit any space. Angled shoe shelves, as well as tracks, upright and back panels, are also available as special features of this line.

Stewart went all out converting a spare room into a closet. “I completely transformed it into the dream space. It’s really become more than just a closet, I feel like it’s the place my friends and I hang out the most,” she says.

More Than Just Storage

While having a custom closet improved the space aesthetically, Stewart feels the benefits of this project reach beyond that. “Honestly, I’m somebody who is a complete spaz. I lose my keys daily and always leave my credit card in the jeans I was wearing the day before,” she says. “I’ve really had to work on being more organized. Having a new clean and organized space has really brought me so much peace and calm. It has been wonderful getting dressed.”

While she probably won’t be the next Mari Kondo, Stewart shares that a serious edit is required for anyone before trying to build out a closet. “Everything that occupies the space should be pieces you wear and love.”

How To Steal Morgan’s Closet (Shoes Not Included)

Even if there isn’t a spare room to convert, there are many ways to organize any sized space. Using bins is a great way to hide the clutter that could be visible if you don’t much built-in storage space. Incorporating several of the same kind is an easy way to create cohesion. The Zen Bamboo BinsNova Woven Storage Bins, and Grey Montauk Woven Rectangular Storage Bins are great examples of this.

A freestanding drawer system is also a sleek way to hide clutter while staying accessible. Systems such as the White Opaque Modular Stackable Drawers and Large Tint Stackable Storage Drawer can be used in a variety of closets and organizational needs.

In very small spaces, it’s a good idea to utilize every inch with hooks like Umbra Handy Hooks and racks such as Bill 6-Hook Wall-Mounted Rack.
