House Hunting: Homes For $6.2 Million Near Vero Beach, Manhattan And Toronto

Real Estate

Like its neighbor to the south, Canada’s real estate market is expected to see continued growth in 2021, particularly in the luxury sector. In Toronto, an emerging global hub, residential sales of $5 million or more have increased by more than 8% year-over-year, while sales of $2 million or more have increased by about 10%. In March, the average price of a home was nearly $1.1 million, according to the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board.

In this week’s look at the world’s finest homes, I compared properties in Toronto against similarly priced properties near Vero Beach, Florida, and New York City. From a contemporary residence in the heart of West Village to a custom home on the exclusive Old Colony Road, here’s a closer look at what about $6.2 million buys in Hutchinson Island, Manhattan and Toronto.

West Village, Manhattan, New York City | $6.5 million

Features: Walls of windows converge in the library/second bedroom to perfectly frame panoramic views of the nearby river and cityscape. The floor-to-ceiling glass is continued in the living room and primary suite, the latter of which has been extensively updated with a marble-clad bathroom and exquisite built-ins.

Other perks: Private storage and a lease to the seller’s garage space—two hard to come by items in the urban metropolis—can be included in the sale for an additional cost.
