Hawaii Waterfall Retreat And “Love Island” Filming Location Seeks $10 Million

Perched atop a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean on Hawaii’s Hamakua Coast, the seaside retreat, Water Falling Estate, has something of a Hollywood history.

Initially purchased in 2016, the nearly 11,000-square-foot showplace has been rented out to several big names, including European royalty and pop superstar Justin Bieber.

Eventually, the over-the-top home’s visual grandeur and stunning scenic setting caught the camera’s attention when the home was chosen as the filming site for the popular reality show “Love Island.”

Not unlike a Hollywood star, the Water Falling Estate is larger than life, with resort-like amenities that include tennis and basketball courts, a 16-foot diving pool and a helipad.

Also located on the roughly 10-acre property is a 9-hole golf course, a 25-meter Olympic swimming pool and a sauna.

The estate derives its name from perhaps its most remarkable feature—two private natural waterfalls that lay at the edge of either side of the property.

“There’s no need to visit a resort when you have all of the best resort amenities wrapped up into one residential property,” wrote listing agent Carrie Nicholson of Hawai’i Life in a blog post about the property. “And don’t forget—two natural private waterfalls.”

Views of the waterfalls and the ocean can be seen from almost any of the four primary suites, as well as from the four-story structure’s many sun-soaked balconies, patios and rooftop deck.

Tucked behind a private gate off the Mamalahoa Highway on the northeast coast of the Big Island, this five-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom home features an open concept floor plan with spacious living areas and airy en-suite bedrooms, which can be accessed by the building’s impressive glass elevator.

Designs follow a breezy retreat style with bright interiors accented by rich wood and earthy stone facades.

Large corner sliding glass doors make for a seamless transition from inside to outside, giving easy access to the estate’s various outdoor amenities.

Also a highly successful, short-term vacation rental, the property is now available for $9.95 million.
