At $10.25 Million, This Fifth Avenue Address Fulfills All The Requirements

Real Estate

By nature of location, a Fifth Avenue residence should be both luxurious and elegant. After all, the historic thoroughfare that travels all the way down Manhattan has earned its stripes over the years as the world’s most expensive shopping street, Millionaire’s Row and Museum Mile.

This three-bedroom condo in a converted early 20th-century skyscraper delivers on its famous address at the northwest corner of Madison Square Park. Once an office building, the neo-Gothic high-rise has been reinvented as high-style dwellings with open floor plans, tall ceilings and oversized windows.

Designed with traditional sensibilities and modern living in mind, the unit offers a blend of both prewar and contemporary design. A polished marble foyer leads to a loft-like living space with 11-foot-2-inch ceilings. The large windows bring in views of the 22-story triangular-shaped Flatiron Building and other historic structures.

The great room seamlessly integrates lounging space, an ample dining area and the clean-lined marble-and-wood kitchen. A center island provides bar seating and prep space. Chevron-patterned wooden floors unite the living areas.

The bedroom wing of some 2,000 square feet contains a light-filled corner primary suite with a sitting area. The marble-clad primary bathroom has a soaking tub and separate shower.

There are a total of three bedrooms, three full bathrooms and a powder room within the unit’s 3,078 square feet of living space.

The building offers concierge services, a health and wellness center, screening room, golf simulator and resident lounge.

The asking price for the property at 212 5th Ave., Residence 16B, New York, N.Y., is US $10.25 million. Nick Montalbano and Ashley Reidy of Elegran are the listing agents.

As for the neighbors, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos purchased his fifth apartment in the building last year. Other buyers of note have included Texas billionaire and environmentalist Ed Bass and ESPN host Mike Greenberg.

An Elegran real estate listing places the building in the NoMad neighborhood, a shortened moniker for Madison Square North located near trendy restaurants, bars and cultural attractions.
