‘The Conjuring’ House In Rhode Island Sells For $1.525 Million

A Rhode Island farmhouse that is notorious for inspiring director James Wan’s 2013 supernatural horror film The Conjuring has sold for $1.525 million. Though it wasn’t the house featured in the film, it was the actual home where the Perron family was plagued by nearly a decade of intense paranormal activity in the 1970s.

The Roman Catholic family had not been predisposed to believe in ghosts, according to The Providence Journal. That changed almost as soon as they moved into the house on Jan. 11, 1971.

“I always got along with the spirits right from the start,” said Andrea Perron, who moved to the house with her parents and four sisters when she was 12. “I had moments of fear because I saw what was happening to my mom and to my family.”

Caretakers have reported countless happenings in the house and have turned overnight guest bookings and group events on the property into a steady successful business.

The seller was represented by The Blackstone Team of Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty. The RR&A Team at Coldwell Banker Realty represented the buyer.

“It is a career highlight to have been a part of this storied home’s legacy,” said Ben Kean, junior partner and sales associate of The Blackstone Team. “Representing and marketing this home was an honor we do not take lightly, and we are grateful to the sellers for trusting us to be their partners through this transaction.”

The Colonial-era home, which dates to around 1736, sold for 27% over the original asking price. According to data from Rhode Island Statewide Multiple Listing Service, 1677 Round Top Road is the most expensive home sold in Burrillville, Rhode Island on record.
